Derrick has experienced some 27 years in the Financial Services Industry; with a career spanning two continents and experience including corporate senior management, IFA and Consulting.
Derrick emigrated from South Africa in 1997 joining the ranks of an Australian Financial Services Institution as an adviser. He had a period in Retail Banking with one of the ‘Big 4’ before being transferred back into the Advice Dealership Division in a senior role. Shortly thereafter he joined one of Australia’s largest Share Broking hHouses, charged with the brief to build their wealth division and recruit advisors. Following this period he entered into Advisory Business Consulting, and then took on a partnership in an IFA practice, which he later sold out of in 2018.
Derrick holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), a Graduate Diploma in Assurance Law as well as DFP/CFP
Other Interesting information
Following the completion of a Diploma in Agriculture Management in South Africa, Derrick travelled to Australia to work as a Jackaroo in outback NSW and later went on to work as a dairy farm labourer in New Zealand. He farmed for 8 years before starting his first degree and joining the Financial Services industry. His passions include wildlife conservation, with a focus on Africa.
