A number of the Astute Client Engagement Tools are useful for marketing your business by facilitating; promotion of a new service to a current client, prospecting for new clients, or working with your centres-of-influence (e.g. Accountant, Mortgage Broker or Lawyer) to gain referrals and/or provide referrals in return.
This health check is a very powerful marketing tool as it asks a client to assess how comfortable they are with their current financial situation across all six areas of financial advice: (i.e. 1. Income, 2. Investment, 3. Debt, 4. Risk, 5. Retirement, and 6. Estate Planning).
You can send an email to prospects that includes a link to the 5 Minute Financial Health Check and when they complete the 5MFHC a report is sent to you that highlights where the client has identified issues and needs your help. It also includes their contact details for you to arrange a first appointment.
You can provide the link to the 5MFHC to your centres-of-influence and engaged clients as well so they are able to send it to their family, friends and clients.
Optional. For your own website – simply include the 5MFHC on your own website (we provide the code free-of-charge) for you to send to your web developer. This form can be up and running on your website in no time at all.
The Astute subscriber (e.g. the financial adviser) can provide their centres-of-influence with a link to their online 5 Minute Financial Health Check. Your COI can email this link to their own client base.
Alternatively, as some COIs (eg. accountants) are currently doing, spend a few minutes at the end of their client meeting completing the Health Check together. If the client scores low in their self assessment, then the COI presses “send” and tells the client that the 5 Minute Financial Health Check report will be sent automatically to the financial adviser who will give them a call in the next couple of days to set an appointment.
A number of Astute Financial Planner subscribers are reporting great success with Accountants using the 5MFHC to provide a steady stream of referrals to the financial adviser.
Accountants are also using it to refer clients to other specialists, covering services the adviser does not provide.
This tool can be used by the financial adviser to determine the scope of work required by the client.
Another marketing use for the 5 Minute Financial Health Check is for seminars. An adviser, or centre-of-influence, can email the link for this online questionnaire to the seminar attendees. Based on the responses received, the adviser can focus the presentation on the areas where the attendees have given themselves low scores thus making the seminar more relevant to the audience. And the adviser has a copy of each attendee’s health check report and can follow up with each prospect afterwards.
